I started drag after I saw a youtube video of afab drag artists in the UK and I realized it was available to me. the person who especially inspired me was an artist previously known as Victoria Sin (@sinforvictory). that was my introduction to gender theory and understanding the social constructs of gender. I cried watching that video. it really opened a whole new world to me. I didn’t intend on becoming a Dolly drag impersonator. I actually started with Cher impersonation. when Dolly’s birthday rolled around I ended up getting booked for a lot of Dolly gigs so I invested into the look and when everything shut down a woman reached out to me about my Dolly photos and her idea about getting performers to perform in front of peoples houses while there wasn’t many other entertainment options available. obviously that was Kerry Lynn from Extragrams! together we’ve brought Dolly all around and across Austin. and though it may not have been intentional, but there isn’t anyone else
